Rixton/Ariana Grande – March 21st 2015

Well yes, of course I went to another concert the next day because that’s just who I am. I’ve been through many issues where I have to concerts back to back but that’s the fun of it. This concert was held at Madison Square Garden during Ariana’s Honeymoon Tour. Of course, Ariana slayed. Before the show though, I had purchased Rixton meet and greets a few months before the show. We got there a little bit more earlier than expected so we had to wait an hour or so. I live a decent distance from the city and if you’re going to a show, you have to go a little bit earlier than actual show time since it all depends on traffic.

In the meantime, I got the softest Rixton tee shirt, which I still wear to this day because it is so unbelievably comfy and an Ariana tour tee shirt as well as Ariana’s electronic cat ears that I wore during the concert. After waiting, more people started to show up and they gave us wristbands and checked off our names on the Live Nation guest list. I never had a meet and greet at MSG before so it was pretty interesting.

I was the second girl in line to meet them and made small talk with the girl in front of me. The person in charge of the meet and greet lead us down this strange corridor into another really big hallway and there stood Rixton’s background and a door right near it. The person in charge told us to have our cameras ready so he could take a picture of us with Rixton. When they came in, of course everyone (including me) fangirled as they made funny faces at everyone and waved as we took pictures of them.

When it was my turn to finally meet them, I hugged Lewi, Danny, Charley (who is my fave) and Jake (since they were standing in that order.) I got to tell them that Rixton’s band account followed me on twitter and Charley said “Cheers!” I totally forgot what else I said to them besides I love their music and them so much. We took a regular smiling picture and then the camera guy said we can take another one, since my Aunt (the one who took me to the meet and greet) wasn’t taking a picture. Then I asked them “What should we do?” and then Charley being Charley said “Let’s pretend we’re looking for a boat.” And that was pretty much the best and cutest meet and greet picture ever.

Following the concert, Rixton put on an amazing show and sang some of my favorite songs of theirs including Appreciated and Hotel Ceiling. During that song, they asked everyone to shine their cell phone lights in the air and when MSG is lit, it looks so unbelievably pretty. If you ever go to a concert at MSG during a slow song of your favorite artist/band, it looks quiet incredible. Other than a few slow songs, Rixton definitely was lifting up the crowd, getting them pumped up for Ariana.

When Ariana finally came on, the spotlight was on her as her dancers flew up from the ground and danced a little before Bang Bang started blasting through the speakers. Ariana definitely put on an amazing show and I did not stop dancing one. Her voice was also incredible as always and I will probably never miss an Ariana Grande show. I hope to meet her someday since she has been my idol since 2008 during her broadway days. I even saw her when she was in 13 with Elizabeth Gillies. Also enjoy a video I took during Ariana’s concert above this post. 🙂 (I had aisle floor seats opposite the runway and sorry for the shaky video.)

Alex and Sierra live – March 20th 2015

Since I haven’t been on this blog for a while, I have a lot to write about. I’ll be a little brief since I have so many events and things I want to talk about. So Alex and Sierra (they were the winners of the last season of X-Factor in 2013) were an opener for Andy Grammer (who I didn’t stay for though I wish I did. But my Mom didn’t want to stay for the whole thing) as well as Paradise Fears and Rachel Platten. (Mind this that Rachel wasn’t even a huge star during this time and only had her EP out at the time.) But I had Alex and Sierra’s meet and greet so we had to get there a little early then usual before the concert starts so we can make it in time. It was pretty organized and not rushed, which I liked. Also, this was my first time at Webster Hall, which I forgot to mention.

We waited outside for a while and it was snowing which kind of sucked. And this was in the middle of March and it was still snowing. It was crazy. But then eventually, they let us into the venue and they gave us are VIP laminates. We then waited in two single filled lines and I was so excited to meet them again (I had also met them before in June of 2014 at their mini concert in South Street Seaport.) I had also made a few friends while waiting in line with my Mom which was nice. Soon enough, it was finally my turn to meet Alex and Sierra. I don’t really remember what they said to me, but my Mom was listening in on the conversation and Alex said “It’s great to see you again!” and I was so in shock that they actually remembered me. (Maybe it was because they remembered me from twitter since they follow me? But I’m still not sure how they remembered me haha.)

Then we walked in the back of the little room where the meet and greet was taken place. After all the pictures were taken, we got to have ice cream (since an ice cream party was part of the meet and greet), with a free tote bag and 1o percent coupon off of merch at the show. Then, Alex and Sierra went at the beginning of the line, talking to every single group of people for about 5 or 10 minutes each it was so lovely. When they came over to me and my Mom, my Mom was telling them how much she loved their music and that we would be seeing them in MSG one day in the near future. They laughed and then I asked if they really remembered me from when I met them the year before. Sierra said “Of course we do!” And Alex told my Mom “If it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t have so many followers on twitter.” Or something like that for their fan base and it was just mind blowing. We then gave them hugs and talked a little more and I told Sierra “You give the best hugs.” (Which was true btw). And then she was like “No, you do!” It was just so amazing.

And then the concert started and I was very impressed with Paradise Fears and Rachel Platten of course but I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Alex and Sierra. They didn’t sing that many songs, maybe about 6 to 8, along with their famous cover of Toxic from their first X-Factor audition. Alex played the electric guitar and Sierra played the tambourine and they also had a back up piano player/DJ and another guitar player. It was very lovely and I don’t have any videos posted because youtube deleted one of my past channels for copyright (whoops….) I do have a picture of my meet and greet (and I also hate that my eyes are closed but i guess it makes a cute picture haha.

I also really did enjoy they’re performance. It was unique and it was my first time seeing them perform with a full on band besides X-Factor. It was mellow, but a few dance songs here and there which made it a nice, small setlist for them. I’ll post a video of one of my favorite songs of theirs and tell me what you think. 11217985_836923933068031_5890774286061468954_o

I’m Back!

Hi guys! It’s been a while. Sorry for that. Been so busy going to so many concerts over the past year and not having time to write about the super bowl, grammy’s and other important music events that have happened from 2015 to now. From Zayn leaving One Direction, to Adele and Justin Beiber’s come back, Troye Sivan’s new album (as well as many new albums I want to share my opinion on), and now ten time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift, Fifth Harmony and Little Mix’s new music; I have so much to talk about. Since I last posted, I’ve been to a few concerts such as Alex and Sierra, Ariana Grande, Marc Anthony, Gavin Becker, R5 and Trevor Moran and Ricky Dillon’s AliveGold Tour. I have so many exciting stories to share and want to hear your guy’s opinion on so many things.

Also, starting college, I’m going in as a photography major and hopefully go into concert photography. Since I love music and photography so much, I thought that might be the perfect career for me one day in the future. I’m also going to talk about a few meet and greet experiences I’ve been too over the past few months that I haven’t been on my blog. Hope you guys enjoy the new posts that are yet to come!

What A Way To Start the Week!!

So, three days ago, one of my favorite bands, Rixton, (the band account) followed me on twitter, then Saturday, the 14th, I saw Sarah Mclachlan with my Mom because I got her tickets for her birthday. Then Sunday, I went to go see Cinderella, (I’ll post about these in a different blog) and last night, was freaking amazing. Not that I did anything exciting, I stayed home on Sunday because I was tired. But last night, Shawn Mendes, one of my favorite male artists, was doing a q and a on twitter because his new song, Stitches was coming out at Midnight. He was currently at the JUNO Awards, backstage, so he did a video to answer some questions. I wanted to see it because I wouldn’t know if he answered my question or not without seeing the video. So I was waiting and waiting and waiting, while I was watching the video, to see if he answered my question. Then finally, I hear him say @alrenjaurnandez in his cute little accent and I immediately wanted to scream but I couldn’t because my Mom would’ve killed me because it was 10 o’clock at night. I put my hand over my mouth and started shaking and almost crying because I never had my question answered in a q and a before by a favorite artist of mine so it was definitely something I will never forget!

I love Shawn because he’s an amazing songwriter and his voice is magical. And his accent is the cutest thing. He has this strong Canadian accent and I love him so much. The first time he noticed me on twitter was when he favorited one of my tweets in January. Then later on his manager had followed me, I don’t remember when exactly. And I think it was in the middle of February when Shawn followed me because I was hanging out with one of my best friends when I got the notification that said that he followed me and I started freaking out because I wasn’t expecting it.

When he answered my question, I sorta died right then and there because I wasn’t even expecting him to answer it. I don’t remember when I asked him that question, but it was probably when he posted to give him questions for his video. I still can’t get over how he said my username, it was so adorable and I’m keeping it forever now. I’ll explain what it is. So, my two favorite members of Fifth Harmony are Lauren and Ally right? So one of my friends, who also likes them, tells me “Why not combine both their ship name and their last names together?” and I thought it was a brilliant idea because I couldn’t come up with any other clever ideas to put their names together. So, if you want to follow me on twitter, my username is @alrenjaurnandez. For those who don’t know, Lauren’s last name is Jauregui and Ally’s is Hernandez so that’s why it looks like that.

And if you want to watch the video of Shawn answering my question and other peoples questions, the link is below and the link to my social media is on the side. Still can’t get over this. He answers my question around 2:09 or 2:10 and it ends at 2:24. Best 25 seconds of my life. Thanks Shawn for following me, favoriting and answering my question. If your reading this, which I doubt, I love you ❤ 🙂

It’s March Already?!

February seemed to go by so fast didn’t it? But I’ve been waiting for the month of March to come and I’ll tell you why. But first, a few things. A couple of days ago, I went to the dentist. Mind you, I am pretty terrified of the dentist for reasons that I may or may not tell. But after the dentist, I finally got a new phone! I was so happy, and still am. I got the iPhone 6 with 128 GB and I freaking love it so much! It is amazing and i love having the freedom to so much space! Now I’ll enough space to record videos for my concerts that I am going to this month! Speaking of which, I am so excited because I am meeting my three favorite bands in one weekend! And I also got my Mom one of the best birthday presents ever for her 50th birthday. I didn’t really know what to get her, but I know she’s been wanting to see her favorite singer, Sarah McLachlan, so badly, and she’s coming to Brooklyn in almost two weeks so I surprised her with floor seats and she was literally speechless and I was so happy because she had wanted to see her live for so long. So anyways, that’s another concert that I am also going to and my Mom invited me to come with her. 🙂

For me, on Friday, March 20th, I’m seeing Alex and Sierra live again and meeting them for the 2nd time! Then the next day, Saturday, March 21st, I’ll be meeting Rixton at Ariana Grande’s concert and seeing her for the second time and them for the first time! (I AM SO STOKED FOR THAT ONE). Then on Monday, (I get a break on Sunday from all of the craziness) I am meeting Fifth Harmony for the 2nd time and seeing them (again) for their first headling tour and I am VERY EXCITED. I’ll be posting about those when the time comes and I absolutely cannot wait. Then sadly, after that, I probably won’t go to another concert until May or in the summer so I might as well enjoy it while I can. There hasn’t been much that’s going on with me other than that but I guess later on in the month, I’ll post more. What have you guys been up to lately? It’s still snowing where I am time to time. Is it cold where you are? Hot? Want to just complain about the weather? Post it in the comment s below 🙂 Love u guys ❤

Bloodstream – Ed Sheeran live at the Brit Awards 2015

I had finally watched some of the performances from the Brit awards that livestreamed earlier today (I didn’t get to watch it this year like I did last year because I didn’t have time) but oh my god… probably my all time favorite performance of his! One he got more towards the chorus of the song, he really started rocking out to it and was getting into it more. Bloodstream is also my favorite song from his album, X, mind you. I was so impressed with it, my mouth was hanging down most of the performance! I’m just really happy Bloodstream is his new recently single because it is my favorite songs. He had his two microphones, his guitar that he plays on all the time and the soundboard or whatever he uses for the beat of the song. He is such a multitalented man, he never fails to impress. What really got me was how low his voice got! I would never think his voice went that low!

It was definitely something I wasn’t expecting. It made give the song more justice though for him going as deep as he could. I love whenever he uses his guitar as a mini drum and bangs on it to the song. The red lights in the background really did set the mood of the song because it was red as blood and the song is called bloodstream… you know where I’m going with this. I am upset I missed the Brit Awards this year because the Red Carpet is hosted by my two of my favorite youtubers, Dan and Phil aka danisnotonfire and amazingphil. One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer weren’t there either because they’re both touring in Japan I am typing this sentence. The Brit Awards never fail to impress me.

No host will beat James Corden though. He is one of a kind and hilarious, he made it even more entertaining. Okay, I’m getting off track from Ed. I’ll talk about the Brits themselves another time. Ed’s performance was definitely one of a kind, nothing can beat it, and it was just simply amazing. If you want to watch it, I have the video below and I’ll have the audio to the original audio so you can see the differences from the live version and the original audio. Tell me what you think of Ed. Personally, he is one of my favorite artists of all time. Hope you enjoy 🙂 (live performance is on top, original song on the bottom 🙂 <3)

Uptown Funk covered by Before You Exit

I have to say I was very impressed with this cover. I love them a lot and I watch all of their covers. (Of course I have favorites of my own of theirs) but this one was pretty awesome. I was really impressed on how much Riley’s vocals improved. They were good before but never this good. Though Toby and Connor didn’t really sing in this one like they do in their own songs and some of their over covers, I kind of wish they did. But it was definitely Riley’s time to shine. It was a live cover, which I was surprised by but it was very well done because they were fun, had the crowd going and Toby and Connor were rocking it out on their guitars. But Riley’s voice is definitely fit for that song which is which I presume he sang the whole song. I’ve seen them live and met them before, they’re really sweet, but they are one of my favorite bands. If you don’t know who they are, they’re three brothers from Orlando, Florida and their names are Riley, Toby, and Connor McDonough. They’re two years apart from each other. Toby, being the youngest at 17 (I still keep thinking he’s sixteen though he had recently just turned 17), Connor at 18 and Riley at 20. Toby just turned 17 but Connor is just a bit older than Toby. But they are really awesome and have some pretty damn good songs. If you want to check them out, their cover is down below and you can just click on the Youtube button to watch it on Youtube and subscribe to their channel because their videos are definitely worth watching. And they are so talented and fun to watch and they’re harmonies are PERFECT. I’m a sucker for harmony’s so that made me love them even more. I don’t actually know how I found them, but they still haven’t released their own album. But boys, if you’re reading this, which I highly doubt, I WANT NEW MUSIC AND I WANT IT SOON AND HAVE AN ALBUM ASAP BECAUSE I WANNA SEE YOU LIVE AGAIN <3. (lol) Anyways… check them out. They definitely won’t be a disappointment. 🙂 (They’re on tour currently opening for Christina Grimmie in Europe. I don’t know which show the cover is from but it is very good.) 🙂 I’ll also posted my all time favorite covers of theirs which made me fall in love with them even more. I watch it all the time still even though it’s like two years old and old band members were part of their band but ITS JUST SO AWESOME.

Song of the Week – Five Colours In Her Hair

This song is by the British band called McFly. What actually got me into this song was a cover by The Vamps and their version was pretty sick so I wanted to hear the original version. When I heard the original version, I was officially attached. McFly is also inspired by a lot of my favorite bands like The Vamps, 5 Seconds Of Summer and One Direction who all love McFly. So I might as well give them a chance and listen to them and oh my god words can not describe how much I love them and I wish I got into them when I was younger. Don’t you hate when you find out music now and then wish you had found out about it in the past and you regret whatever feeling you had at least trying not to find new music then? I feel that way every time I find a new band that I really like and it annoys me. BUT THEY ARE SO GOOD GOD I HATE MYSELF. LISTEN TO THEM ON SPOTIFY, YOUTUBE, ITUNES, ANYTHING. YOU WON’T REGRET IT. The original song and the cover that got me into the actual song are below. MCFLY YOU ROCK. And I had to post the song of the week a day before because I couldn’t wait any longer for you guys to hear this song.

Didn’t feel like posting the actual videos this time  because it’s actually really annoying but I hope you enjoyed this post. I was definitely shocked by the dramatic change on who’s on the charts. And I saw that Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan we’re in a musical together! I was definitely shocked about that and surprised to see Jeremy on the charts! I used to loveeee him in Newsies, which is my favorite broadway play of ALL TIME (which I’ll write about another time) I never actual got to see him when he was in Newsies but he’s on the original soundtrack and from what I’ve heard is that he is an AMAZING actor so I’m definitely going to be watching that. So what did you think of the charts this week? Notice anything different? Tell me in the comments below! 🙂
