Legend – Marie Lu series

Honestly, one of the best series I’ve ever read besides the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare (which I’m still in the process off because it’s a never ending beautiful series.) But oh my god I picked up Legend a few years ago and never really had the chance to read it. But when I picked up from the bookshelf in my room, I was immediately hooked. Like Cassandra, Marie has a very descriptive way of writing, which I love.

It pulls you into a trance, bring you into it within the first few sentences. That’s what I loved about this series. And usually, I don’t like books, or fanfiction either, where they switch between character’s P.O.V’S every time there is a new chapter. But honestly for this book, I didn’t mind. It really brought me to know each character. From Day, living in the slums of the Lake Sectors to June, living in a beautiful life filled with riches in the Ruby Sector.

Most of these books weren’t cliche, except for a little bit of the 3rd book in the last few pages before the ten year later mark part of the book. God, that last of the book killed me so much. I don’t remember much of the 2nd book honestly, but the 1st and 3rd was definitely my favorites. 3rd mostly in front of the 1st one because it was that good and a really good way to close the series.

I love how she ended it though (No spoilers here, I promise.) It made you wanting more, even though you knew that the ending was just perfect by itself. Like you can kind of figure out what would happen in the future or make it up in your mind. It was very family oriented, which I loved. But being family oriented, made it even more emotional.

If your like me, if it’s a good book and a good writer, you’re going to get attached to the characters quickly. And that’s exactly what happened with me and meeting the characters June and Day and going through an emotional rollercoaster.

Usually books I read, they usually don’t make me cry, especially like if they have an emotional ending. But this time, I actually did shed a few tears. I was so attached to day, I felt his pain and his love for June. God I wish I everyone reading this right now could’ve read the books already just so I can pour my heart and soul out onto this page just like Marie Lu did in her books with her characters.

I definitely recommend this series by Marie Lu called Legend. It is absolutely incredible and will keep you wanting more. The suspense, thriller and chill of emotion will absolutely make you want to read each book in a days time because it’s honestly that good. I can’t read that much in one day, but I read each book within three weeks. One week for Legend, the other for Prodigy and the last for Champion.

Now I’m going back to Cassandra Clare’s series before then going back to Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series… God I have so much to read but I’m not complaining because I love reading so much. One of my favorite past times and hobbies. Have you read one of Marie Lu’s books or series? (Also have to catch up with the Young Elites by her as well since her writing is incredible.) If so, which one is your favorite? Are you’re reading a book right now? If so again, leave it in the comments below and maybe give your suggestions on what I and other people reading this blog should read that all of us might enjoy!

BTW, Did I mention this was one of the best series I’ve ever read? I think I have… oh well. (Ha ha.) Bye for now!
